Nintendo Switch: The Most Creative Console on the Market

If the Nintendo Switch is not on your radar, it should be. Think of the Nintendo Switch as the ultimate crossover console that allows for home gaming as well as handheld entertainment. You can play it on your big screen television or you can utilize it like a Nintendo DS on steroids. It does not matter if you are a parent or a hard core gamer; the Nintendo Switch is a game changer.

“Nintendo has really outdone themselves with the Switch.”

The Nintendo Switch is easily the most versatile console on the market. With controls that slide on and off the tablet-like screen, the ability to convert to a single ultimate controller and the kickstand on the tablet for upright positioning, it provides gamers with the freedom to play games anytime, anywhere. The Nintendo Switch also allows you to play online or you can link up to eight systems together for a unique type of gaming experience.

To play the game on your TV, simply slide the 6.2” touch screen into the docking station, which has a power cord and HDMI cable connected to it. Unlike the PlayStation 4 and the X-box one, it comes with two controllers called Joy-Cons. In order to play the games on the big screen, you will have to slide the Joy-Con’s off the tablet. For single use, you can combine the Joy-Cons for a more conventional controller.

Along with the Joy-Con and the touch screen, the Nintendo Switch comes with the dock, Joy-Con Grip, Joy-Con Straps and a 32GB internal memory. There are plenty of game titles to keep you entertained, including Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Mario OdysseyZelda and Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze (available 5/4). One of the drawbacks of the Nintendo Switch is the inability to browse the web and the ability to watch other media because it is a specifically made for gaming. However, you can watch Hulu by downloading the Hulu app from the Nintendo eShop. Hopefully, other streaming services will jump on board and follow in Hulu’s footsteps. The Nintendo Switch will not make you forget about the Xbox One or the PlayStation 4 Pro, but you definitely have to make room for it in your life when it comes to gaming.
