Hanging With The Turners (HWTT) was launched in 2016 as a way to chronicle our family interactions, provide advice and suggestions as well as share ideas about family. Our hope is to inspire and motivate families through our activities and experience.

HWTT is all about family, sports and lifestyle. We provide thoughtful insight on our events through blog posts, original photography and social media. Happy hanging!

To the Victor Go the Spoils

To the Victor Go the Spoils

I picked the kids up after school and we headed straight to Nationals Park to watch some afternoon baseball. We had a little bit of a dilemma, but my wonderful wife took one for the team by attending my oldest son’s open house while the boys and I watched the Nationals take on the Cubs.

In regards to the playoffs, the Nationals are on the outside looking in, but the Turners are going to support the team to the very end. Honestly, I really didn’t want to waste my tickets and I can’t sell them on StubHub because the team isn’t doing so well. Nevertheless, I did want to see the Nationals top prospect, Victor Robles who finally got called up to The Show.

One of the great things about sitting in the Red Porch 100, we have an opportunity to catch homerun balls and friendly tosses by the center fielders every game. DJ, who always gives his baseballs to his little brother has received baseballs from Michael A. Taylor from the Nationals as well as Ian Desmond from the Colorado Rockies. On Thursday afternoon Drew finally received his first baseball from none other than Victor Robles and it completely made his day. The Nationals fell to the Cubbies in extra innings 4-3, but Victor Robles instantly became a fan favorite of the Turners.
