Hanging With The Turners (HWTT) was launched in 2016 as a way to chronicle our family interactions, provide advice and suggestions as well as share ideas about family. Our hope is to inspire and motivate families through our activities and experience.

HWTT is all about family, sports and lifestyle. We provide thoughtful insight on our events through blog posts, original photography and social media. Happy hanging!

All Black Everything (Well Almost)

All Black Everything (Well Almost)

My wife and I attended my brother and his new wife's wedding in Cambridge, MD over the weekend. We had an amazing time and it was very well done. I found great pleasure in being able to light the candle that represented my dad's heavenly absence. My brother also asked me to capture some memories for him by taking some behind the scene wedding photos as well as during the ceremony. Although it was a traditional wedding, there were some non-traditional elements of the wedding that made it very unique. The couple did not have a wedding party which kept the focus on the bride and groom. The couple also stood in the middle of the venue while the attendees sat around them in an almost circular fashion which literally and figuratively made them the center of attention.

Congratulations to the bride and groom.

Congratulations to the bride and groom.

Although this was a very formal wedding, it wasn't quite a black tie event. Ties were optional as long as you wore all black to the wedding as well as the reception. For the most part, everyone adhered to the couple's request and wore all black which made for a very classy occasion. The bride and groom went the unconventional route and wore red and they pulled it off in spectacular fashion.

My wife and I had an awesome time at the wedding, cocktail hour and the reception. We were there to support the start of a new union and see a lot of family and friends that we had not seen in quite a while. It was a great day.
