Hanging With The Turners (HWTT) was launched in 2016 as a way to chronicle our family interactions, provide advice and suggestions as well as share ideas about family. Our hope is to inspire and motivate families through our activities and experience.

HWTT is all about family, sports and lifestyle. We provide thoughtful insight on our events through blog posts, original photography and social media. Happy hanging!

Locked & Loaded

Locked & Loaded

Fresh off a doubleheader, my team had plenty to smile about today; especially DJ. He went 0-1 from the left side of the plate, but he went 3-4 with a triple, two singles and a walk from the right side. He was seeing the ball very well on Saturday as he just missed a homerun. He was crushing the ball. The coach from the other team even had the umpire check DJ’s bat which we found amusing. There coach might want to read my article, A Beast for a Beast. He finished the day with two RBI, two steals and he crossed the plate 3 times.

He pitched Game 1 and we won 12-5. He struck out 8 in 4 1/3 innings. He exhibited great control on the mound as he only walked two batters. A few errors kept innings going, but for the most part the team played pretty good defense behind DJ. We won the second game 9-4. DJ had an infield assist and he tagged two runners out trying to steal third; all without committing an error. In all, Coach Dad, mom and his little brother was pleased with my son’s performance and so was his teammates as they voted for him to get the game ball.

He even signed his inscribed stat game ball and gave it to his grandparents.
