First Day of Swim Club
My wife and I were trying to decide if we should sign up our son Drew for the soccer team or the swim club. In the end, we let our son decide and he chose swimming. I figured the first day of swimming would be light and the kids would slowly get accustomed to the regulated distance of a high school swimming pool. We have a pool in our backyard, but it's not even close to the distance of the pool they were training in.
The instructor took the kids to the far end of the pool and told the kids to prepare to swim at least four laps today. One of the parents said, "Hold up! Did she say 4 laps?" My wife said, "I think she said four?" I was a bit concerned as well because I thought that may have been a bit much for the first day, but every kid including my son swam up and back five times. My wife and I were so proud of him and so was his older brother. Not bad for the first practice, but I wonder what the second practice is going to be like.
