A Zinsational Burger Joint
One of the Turner's favorite family restaurants to dine at is Red Robin, but we thought we would give Zinburger Wine & Burger Bar in Springfield, VA a try this past weekend. We met some close friends of ours who also have two boys as we do and we figured we would make an evening out of it.
Prior to visiting Zinburger, I looked at the menu and I already knew what I was going to order. I knew they specialized in hand-crafted burgers and hand-spun shakes and malts, but another menu item caught my attention; the Southwest Chicken Sandwich with a lettuce wedge opposed to a bun. My wife ordered the Seared Ahi Sandwich. My oldest son ordered the Plain & Simple Burger and my youngest son ordered the Grilled Chicken Sandwich off the Kids menu. Our friends built there own burgers, while their kids ate cheeseburgers off the kids menu.
The food was very good as was the glass of Cabernet Sauvignon (The Seeker) I paired with my meal. We had great customer service and we even started discussing a return trip to Zinburger before we finished eating. My oldest son even stated that he would choose Zinburger over Red Robin, but quickly reminded me that Red Robin is still one of his favorites. One negative is that the sides are not included with the burgers and you have to order everything a la carte. It's not a deal breaker, but it is something to consider if you are concerned about cost. Overall, Zinburger is a very family-friendly restraunt and I look forward to our next visit.
