Fear the Turtle
The Turners joined the Prattis family and special guest Mr. Oneill at Capital One Field at Maryland Stadium. It was our second college game of the year, but it was our first at College Park. What seemed like a walk in a park for Maryland turned into a long slow walk over hot coals as UCF routed the Terps 38-10. I am not sure if the Terrapin fans assumed we would win or maybe they still don't believe the team is good enough, but attendance was unimpressive. It's hard to believe, but Terps fans were easily drowned out by the "U-C-F" chants of the Knights! The Knights definitely didn't "Fear the Turtle". They took over the stadium.
We didn't go all out for our first tailgate at Maryland as we only had subs and chips to power us through 'til game time, but we had a lot of fun. Big Cinco came fully equipped with a mini-keg style contraption that spouted out refreshing Octoberfest; plus we had other cold beverages to assist us on an unseasonably warm day. We engaged in story telling, laughter and people watching while my oldest son and I pitched the baseball around the parking lot. We also started our initial discussion about our ultimate tailgate which will take place at Capital One Field at Maryland Stadium on November 25; the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Hopefully, the team will turn things around, but even if they don't our tailgate will be epic.
