Mother of Dragons (Part I)
The boys and I get to do a lot of fun things that are related to sports and it's all because my wife is into sports as much as we are. Now, I am not saying that if my wife was not into sports we would tune out sports all together, but it would put a damper on many of the things we do. She is really into sports which allows us to constantly push the envelope. For example, the two of us flew to Las Vegas for a weekend getaway and I suggested we drive across the desert in the middle of our vacation to see the Boston Celtics take on the Los Angeles Clippers at the Staples Center and she was all for it. Another example is our recent baseball road trip that she helped plan.
Since I coach baseball, she has to take on the responsibility of being the coach's wife. My son and I were asked about playing travel baseball tonight so little does she know; things are going to get a little more hectic. She has even started to take some interest in my sports memorabilia collection which has become quite the collection. It's slowly becoming a family interests which means a lot to me.
Whether it's 95 degrees during an early evening Nationals baseball game or a monsoon during a Saturday afternoon Penn State football game, she's all in. Most women like a particular sport but she watches it all and she even participates in fantasy basketball and football. Which reminds me; my wife and I play each other in week four, 6 Burgh vs Mother of Dragons and hopefully I can get some revenge. Things didn't go so well for me last fantasy football season.
