Any Given Sunday
My wife and I promised our youngest son we would take him to IHOP and the movies to see Captain Underpants on Sunday. He had the movie release date embedded in his head ever since he saw the first trailer so waiting until the following week would have been a huge let down. And I try not to be in the business of letting down my boys. The movie was a masterpiece in silliness and we love silliness; therefore we really enjoyed it. One character's name is Captain Underpants and another character's name is Professor Poopypants. Plus Kevin Hart is doing one of the voice overs and that's enough for me.
Right after breakfast and the movies, my oldest son and I had a baseball game. We raced home, quickly changed clothes, and arrived to the park to play a Sunday afternoon baseball game. I was proud of the kids, because they gave up their Saturday and Sunday for a baseball game. Sundays are supposed to be their day and they, along with their parents gave up their day for the coaches.
The team fell behind early, but we rallied for a 17-7 victory. It was the first time all year every kid got a hit. DJ had a phenomenal day. He ended his day going 2-2 with a triple, a walk, 2 RBI, 3 runs and four steals. He was definitely in line for a game ball, but the coaches went with two kids who had their first multi hit game of the season.
Surely if the kids could give up their Sunday for the coaches, this coach could easily give up a few hours of his day to go for a 30 mile bike ride. Thanks for the motivation kids!
