Happy Father's Day
Our Little League season ended yesterday, but I found out that I will be one of the coaches for the All-Star team. We also found out my oldest son will be one of the final 12 players on the team which is awesome. I already knew he made the team, but yesterday made it official. So I really didn't need anything for Father's Day; coaching the All-Stars with my son on the team is gift enough.
Nevertheless, my boys wanted to take me to the movies today so we could see Cars 3. I am still not quite sure how that was for me, but I'm game. Based on the amount of dads in the movie theater, there were a lot of kids that came up with the same idea. I just wanted to spend the day with my family and I didn't care how we did it or what we did; I just wanted to make sure my family had a good day.
In order to make this happen, we had to eat breakfast on the road and drive an hour to the movie theater. It was important for us to be as close to Baltimore as possible and to catch the 10 am showing of Cars 3 because I decided when I woke up this morning, I wanted to see the Orioles. I could have went to the movies after the game, but the Turners are all about matinee pricing.
The Orioles treated the Turners to a great game as they beat the Cardinals 8-5. Cars 3 was well done and my boys really enjoyed it. They thought Cars 3 was better than Captain Underpants, but I liked Captain Underpants a little better and Rotten Tomatoes seems to agree with me. Both the movie and the Orioles game made for an exciting Father's Day for the Turners.
