I Know What You Did Last Summer
I usually do the majority of the summer planning and last year was a great summer. We didn't make it to the beach, but the kids had a great time at camp including the Joy of Learning camp and the Washington Nationals camp in which my son met Clint Robinson. We took the boys on a tour of the Northeast which included stops in Boston to catch a game at Fenway, Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, Buffalo and historic Niagara Falls. We also went to Ohio where we got to experience the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, a game at Progressive Field and we toured the NFL Hall of Fame. We just missed the Steelers training camp; however, we did stop and see the location of the historic yet tragic site of Flight 93.
This year my wife is at the helm and her plans have already surpassed what I did last summer. This summer we will be headed to New York, the Midwest and we will also be heading South. She has us on an aggressive, yet doable schedule in which we will visit three different Midwest stadiums with one being the Great American Ballpark which was requested by my son. The trip south will land us in either South Carolina or one of our favorite cities, Atlanta. I am betting on South Carolina this go round. I am pretty sure she will have a few amusement parks and a beach sprinkled into our plans. It feels good to see her do the planning. All I have to do is kick back and relax!
Except when it's time to depart because I have to do all of the driving.
