Last night I hydrated and fueled up as if I was going on a long ride, but I really didn't have any intentions on cycling. I had a busy Memorial Day weekend and I figured I'd use my day off from work to catch up on some rest; especially since my wife had to work and the kids had school. The only thing I had to do today was be home by noon so the gas man could service our pool heater.
My wife tells me all the time that I don't know how to relax and she is right. So instead of kicking back and watching a movie, I decided to go on a quick bike ride and I ended up going 41 miles. My body felt good and I found a really good rhythm. I finished the month cycling 272.87 miles; beating my previous best for a month by 45 miles. My wife pedaled her way to just under 100 miles this month. If I didn't have to coach my son's baseball game, I would have tried to squeeze in another 28 miles to get to 300 before June hit. Reaching 300 miles in a month is going to be challenging, but it gives me something to shoot for. I just have to stay ready!
