Hanging With The Turners (HWTT) was launched in 2016 as a way to chronicle our family interactions, provide advice and suggestions as well as share ideas about family. Our hope is to inspire and motivate families through our activities and experience.

HWTT is all about family, sports and lifestyle. We provide thoughtful insight on our events through blog posts, original photography and social media. Happy hanging!

The Quest for 30

The Quest for 30

A few years ago I made a declaration to my family that the Turners would visit a new Major League Baseball park every year. A good friend of mine has made it to all 30 ballparks which is an unbelievable accomplishment. Last summer my oldest son recommended that we visit Fenway Park to see David Ortiz aka Big Papi before he retired. It was an excellent suggestion because we were able to see one of the all time greats in the oldest MLB ballpark. I know the Red Sox fans recently received some bad press, but they have a very knowledgeable fan base.

A few weeks later, we visited Progressive Field after a day trip to Niagara Falls. Progressive Field reminds me of Nationals Park because it's located in the heart of downtown Cleveland much like Nationals Park in Washington, DC. Although they made renovations including one of the biggest scoreboards I have ever seen, the ballpark still has trouble drawing fans. After visiting Fenway and Progressive Field last year, I am halfway to completing my quest for 30. So far I have visited:

 Wrigley Field

Wrigley Field

 PNC Park

PNC Park

 Marlins Park

Marlins Park

 Citi Field

Citi Field

 Citizens Bank Park

Citizens Bank Park

My wife and kids have been to all of the aforementioned parks except Comerica Park, Globe Life Field and Guaranteed Rate Field. We haven't decided what park to visit this summer, but we are thinking about visiting Busch Stadium (Cardinals) and Kauffman Stadium (Royals). Or should we visit the ballpark in your area next. Let us know what you think?
