Our First Walk-off
As I sit here watching Monsters University for the third time in three days, I find myself still pumped up from one helluva game at Nationals Park. The weather was fantastic and it was Daniel Murphy bobblehead day. We arrived early to snatch a couple of bobble heads and to catch up with an old friend and colleague, Greg AKA The Big Hitter. He met my family and we tried to catch up on lost time over a couple of beers in the Budweiser Brew House before the game. Thanks for hanging with the Turners Big Hitter! Enjoy your road trip and I will see you on May 12th at Nationals Park.
The Turners had another great time at Nationals Park. Stephen Strasburg didn't get much run support, but he pitched well enough to keep the Nationals within striking distance. The highlight of the game was in the bottom of the 10th inning. With the scored tied 2-2, Daniel Murphy stepped to the plate with Bryce Harper on first. And with one swing, Daniel Murphy delivered a double down the left field line to score Harper (all the way from first) allowing the Turners to experience their very first walk-off hit. Everyone in the Red Porch 100 went bananas!
It was only fitting that Murphy would drive in the winning run on his bobblehead day.
