Hanging With The Turners (HWTT) was launched in 2016 as a way to chronicle our family interactions, provide advice and suggestions as well as share ideas about family. Our hope is to inspire and motivate families through our activities and experience.

HWTT is all about family, sports and lifestyle. We provide thoughtful insight on our events through blog posts, original photography and social media. Happy hanging!

All Hail the King

All Hail the King

This morning we took the boys to IHOP and we followed that up with a trip to the movies to catch a matinee, Kong: Skull Island. We were a little hesitant to take the boys to the movie because it was PG 13 and Samuel L. Jackson (Preston Packard) was in it and we worried about the language. We eventually decided to take them because we figured it would be along the lines of Jurassic World which the boys enjoyed. My wife and I thought the movie was very entertaining and the boys also enjoyed it.

Kong had an excellent story and there was plenty of action throughout the movie. John C. Reilly (Hank Marlow) was probably my favorite character in the movie, but all of the actors gave solid performances. Rotten Tomatoes gave Kong a better than 75% rating. I would kick up a few more percentage points because it's great movie to watch with the family. I wouldn't recommend this to smaller kids, because the movie does contain some violent scenes and a few verbal bombs. But if your kids can handle the Jurassic Park series, this will be right up their alley.
