Another 48 Hours
Our recent trip to South Florida reminded me of the Eddie Murphy (Reggie Hammond) movie 48 hours. Just like Eddie had 48 hours to solve his case, we had two days to do as much as we could before we headed back home.
The first 24 hours were relaxing, but it flew by. First we took the boys swimming at the hotel because the weather was beautiful. After that my wife and I treated the boys to breakfast in North Miami Beach. Once we were done with breakfast, we met some family at Bayside Marketplace. We had lunch at Hard Rock Cafe for the first time. Then we walked around the entire marketplace with a Fat Tuesday daiquiri in our hand the entire time. We even managed to do a little shopping.
The next day my wife took our youngest son swimming. I stayed in the room with the oldest because he wanted to relax. We cruised Ocean Drive before traveling up the coast to Hollywood Beach to Margaritaville which has a fantastic resort. After lunch we met my buddy and we drove to Boca Raton to Florida Atlantic University’s campus. My wife had not been there since she graduated so that was exciting. Then we took a tour of the Sports Memorabilia/Fanatics facility in Sunrise which was awesome. Once the tour ended we spent time with my wife’s side of the family. We had a great time with them. We took some family photos and raced over to my uncle’s house to meet his wonderful wife. The night ended at the Cheesecake Factory where we enjoyed a late, late dinner. We slept for four hours and like that, we were gone.
We didn’t have time for a Heat game in Miami, but what do you know…the Heat are in Charlotte and so are we!
