Gotta Be the Shoes
The Turners are big time baseball fans and we try to attend as many games as we can. Whether it's the Nationals or traveling to Fenway to see the Red Sox, we plan our weekends and quite often our weekdays around 6 or 9 innings of baseball. My oldest son moved up to Little League this year and despite my hesitation Coach Dad is onboard for the ride as Assistant Coach. I just wanted to be dad this year, but the Head Coach needed me and saying no to him is like saying no to my son.
My son had tryouts and of course he made the team, but the cleats we ordered didn't arrive in time so I had to buy him some basic cleats until the shoes he wanted arrived. When I got home from work, the package was on the kitchen counter. I called him into the kitchen and we both opened the box and we just stood in amazement. When we took the lid off; it seemed lik a golden glow came out of the box. I'm pretty sure I imagined it, but these cleats looked awesome. When my 11 year old pulled that 9 1/2 Under Armour cleat out of the box he had the biggest grin on his face. And I immediately thought, he will be wearing my kicks next year.
