God of Thunder
As a veteran, it’s nice to have a day of recognition. It’s even better that the restaurants offer a free meal to all the veterans on Veteran’s Day. We tried to take advantage of the offerings at IHOP, but the red, white and blue pancakes did not fit into my diet. Nevertheless, we enjoyed a great breakfast before we embarked on our family journey to Asgard. Since the kids were out of school and my wife and I didn’t have to work, we went to see Thor: Ragnarok, the third installment of the Thor trilogy and it was definitely worth the price of admission.
Despite a 93% freshness rating on Rotten Tomatoes and my brother’s recommendation, I was still hesitant to see the movie. Boy was I wrong. It was an action pack movie that had a generous amount of humor spread throughout. Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Lokey (Tom Hiddleston) did a great job of playing off each other. The story was cleverly done and the writers did a great job of bringing in Marvel characters like Hulk and Dr. Strange while introducing new characters including one helluva bad ass villain named Hela (Cate Blantchett) that gave the good guys a run for their money. With Iron Man and Captain America leading the Marvel discussions, Thor Ragnarok might have stolen their thunder. My wife and two sons really enjoyed the movie and in my opinion it was the best of the Thor trilogy and it might be the best of the Marvel movies.
